The Cemetery At Maplewood:
Maplewood Cemetery has been incorporated since 1898, but as you will see while strolling through
the older part, there are many burials that date back to the 1700’s. We believe that Maplewood is
comprised of a few older cemeteries that were next to each other and then were joined in 1898 to make
what is now Maplewood Cemetery.
We are a family owned cemetery who has been serving the Freehold area for over 100 years. Because
we are family owned, we understand what families go through when experiencing a death of a loved
one. Our employees will do everything that they can to guide you through a very difficult journey.
Maplewood is a non-sectarian cemetery which offers a variety of burial options.

Our ground burial offers many different options for memorializing your loved one. Whether you choose,
an upright headstone, bevel marker, flat marker, veterans marker or granite bench, we are here to offer
suggestions and provide information about local, reputable monument dealers. We allow virtually any
type of monument, made of granite, slate or marble, as long as the sizes are approved by the cemetery.
In the near future, we will be opening up a “double depth” section of the cemetery which will allow for
two casket burials in one plot. Currently we allow one casket and up to two cremated remains, or three
cremated remains per plot , (or grave space). |
